New Delhi, August 3, 2025 — The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2025 was conducted smoothly across 301 cities on Sunday, with over 2.42 lakh candidates appearing for what is now the largest single-shift computer-based examination in India. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, carried out the examination in 1,052 test centres nationwide.
In a coordinated effort to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the exam, NBEMS deployed over 2,200 faculty members from medical colleges and NBEMS-accredited hospitals to supervise and evaluate the conduct of the test. The board had proactively written to all State Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police to secure law and order, ensure cyber safety, and guarantee uninterrupted power supply at all centres.
To curb cheating and prevent cyber-related malpractice, NBEMS collaborated with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Approximately 300 cyber commandos were stationed at test centres, with special focus on sensitive locations. Live CCTV feeds from each test venue were monitored in real time by more than 200 NBEMS officials based at the central control office.
Additionally, mobile signals at the exam centres were jammed using specialized equipment to prevent unauthorized communication. Senior officials including deans, directors, and governing body members of NBEMS acted as flying squads, making surprise visits to examination venues to ensure compliance and security.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Home Affairs closely tracked the preparations and progress of NEET-PG 2025, issuing timely advisories and support. Authorities expressed confidence that the successful conduct of this exam would serve as a benchmark for future large-scale computer-based examinations in India.
