Navjot Kaur Sidhu Criticizes Rahul Gandhi, Accuses Him of Disconnect and Inaction in Punjab Congress

Coimbatore (Gurpreet Singh): Former Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, accusing the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha of being out of touch with grassroots realities and failing to address alleged corruption within the Punjab Congress unit.

Speaking at an event in Coimbatore, Sidhu alleged that Gandhi’s inaction is “killing Congress in Punjab,” claiming that his close aides are involved in selling election tickets while he remains unaware.

“Rahul Gandhi talks well and makes sense, but what he says and what he does are very different,” Sidhu said. She added that she had been trying for eight months to secure an appointment to brief Gandhi on the deteriorating condition of the party in Punjab.

Sidhu further stated that if Gandhi is unaware of developments within his party, he does not deserve to hold his leadership position. She also claimed that she and her supporters were promised key roles, including a Deputy Chief Minister post with seven departments and a parliamentary seat, but were ultimately sidelined.

Highlighting alleged corruption, Sidhu questioned Gandhi’s stance on graft, asserting that “corrupt people” surround him while honest voices are ignored. She also criticized him for lacking grassroots political experience and urged him to engage more closely with ground-level realities.

In a notable comment, Sidhu contrasted Gandhi with Narendra Modi, claiming there are no personal corruption charges against the Prime Minister and challenging critics to prove otherwise.

The Congress party has not yet issued an official response to Sidhu’s remarks. Her statements come amid ongoing political turbulence in Punjab ahead of upcoming elections.
