Canada (Rajeev Sharma): National Times Media urges Canadian authorities to ensure that taxpayers’ money, time and public resources are used in accordance with applicable law, established policies and transparent oversight.
The organisation also encourages Indian organisations, community groups, business leaders and representatives in Canada to independently assess any request for financial, organisational or logistical support connected with CJP, which it describes as the Cockroach Janta Party. Organisations should consider the legal status, stated objectives and proposed activities of any group before deciding whether to provide support. Any decision to provide or withhold support should be voluntary and free from threats, harassment or coercion.
National Times Media calls for any concerns regarding CJP to be assessed through lawful, evidence-based and transparent procedures. It states that CJP is not legally registered as a political party with the Election Commission of India (ECI). This statement should be verified against official records and applicable law. Even if accurate, the registration status of an organisation would not, by itself, establish wrongdoing.

National Times Media believes authorities should apply consistent legal and administrative standards when considering public funding, facilities or logistical support for any organisation. Any investigation, funding decision, suspension, withdrawal of support or restriction must comply with Canadian law, applicable due process requirements, constitutional protections and reliable, independently assessed evidence. Lawful political expression, peaceful assembly and criticism of any government must remain protected. Political disagreement alone is not evidence of criminality, and no adverse action should be taken solely on the basis of unverified allegations, political affiliation or lawful dissent.
Indian organisations and community members should rely on accurate information, maintain proper financial records and seek appropriate legal advice before making funding or partnership decisions. They should avoid presenting unverified claims as facts and report credible concerns to the relevant authorities through lawful channels. The organisation has referred to possible effects on public harmony and Canada–India relations, as well as allegations involving unlawful activities or funding. These claims have not been independently verified and should not be treated as established facts. Competent authorities may investigate credible concerns involving public safety, national security, foreign interference, unlawful financing or threats to community harmony. Any such investigation must be authorised by law, conducted fairly and impartially, and based on reliable evidence. Any resulting funding decision or restriction must be proportionate, procedurally fair and consistent with constitutional rights and other applicable legal protections.
National Times Media encourages Indian organisations and business leaders in Canada to submit independent, factual representations to public authorities on their own letterhead. No organisation should be pressured to support any political party, government or campaign, and no group should attempt to compel another organisation to provide or withhold support through intimidation or harassment.
National Times Media supports peaceful dialogue, responsible public spending and strong Canada–India relations. It rejects threats, harassment, violence, inflammatory rhetoric and unsupported accusations, while recognising the right of all parties to participate in relevant legal or administrative processes.
