National Times Media Group Advocates for Prohibition of Alcohol and Non-Vegetarian Products in Vrindavan

Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): The National Times Media Group has initiated a campaign to declare Vrindavan a completely alcohol- and non-vegetarian-free zone, considering the city’s significant religious importance and the sentiments of millions of devotees.

As part of this initiative, the Group’s Managing Editor Rajeev Sharma has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the enactment of a special law to prohibit the sale and consumption of alcohol and non-vegetarian food in the holy town.

According to the media group, devotees and residents alike feel emotionally hurt when they witness the open sale of alcohol and non-veg food in a place they hold sacred. Local citizens of Vrindavan have also expressed their opposition, stating that such activities contradict the spiritual character of the city, which attracts pilgrims from around the world.
The appeal is currently awaiting a response from state and central authorities.
