Rajeev Sharma :- A shocking murder in Canada has sparked outrage after Indian-origin social media influencer Nancy Grewal was fatally stabbed at her residence in LaSalle, Windsor. The 45-year-old, who was originally from Jalandhar in Punjab, was living in Ontario when the incident occurred. According to reports, unidentified attackers allegedly entered her home and attacked her with a knife around 9:30 pm on Tuesday, leading to her death at the scene before she could be taken to hospital.
Following the incident, Nancy Grewal’s mother, Tejinder Kaur, came forward in the media and made several serious allegations regarding her daughter’s death. She claimed that her daughter had been brutally murdered by people who held enmity against her. According to the grieving mother, Nancy died on the spot and could not even be shifted to a hospital in time.
Tejinder Kaur further alleged that some of the people who were hostile towards her daughter were hiding in a gurdwara. She claimed that certain individuals had deep resentment against Nancy and wanted her to publicly apologise to them. The mother described her daughter as a compassionate woman who often helped the poor and stood firmly by what she believed was the truth.
She also revealed that this was not the first time Nancy had faced threats. According to her, there had been an earlier attack on Nancy and even an attempt to set her house on fire, but she survived that incident. The mother further claimed that recently a man had come to Nancy’s house with his face covered, allegedly to conduct surveillance, but he fled after noticing CCTV cameras installed at the property.
Sharing more details about her daughter’s life, Tejinder Kaur said Nancy had moved to Canada in 2018 where she completed a nursing course. She later worked at a pyramid company in the mornings and at a care parts warehouse in the evenings. The mother said she last spoke to her daughter on the phone on the 2nd of the month.
The incident has raised serious concerns within the Indian and Punjabi community in Canada, while police have reportedly launched an investigation to identify those responsible for the brutal killing.
