Mid-Air Scare on IndiGo Flight After Passenger Tries to Open Emergency Exit

Varanasi (Gurpreet Singh): Passengers aboard an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Varanasi experienced tense moments after a passenger allegedly attempted to tamper with an emergency exit door mid-air, officials said.
The incident occurred on Saturday night on flight 6E-185 while the aircraft was en route to Varanasi. The flight departed Bengaluru at around 8:15 pm. The accused passenger, identified as Mohammad Adnan from Mau district in Uttar Pradesh, reportedly tried to open the emergency exit during the journey.
The cabin crew intervened promptly, preventing any escalation. According to sources, the passenger later claimed his actions were unintentional. Following standard safety protocol, the crew shifted his seat and issued a warning.
Despite the situation being brought under control, passengers were left shaken by the incident. Airline officials said the crew’s swift response ensured safety and prevented any serious consequences.
The aircraft landed safely at Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport at around 10:35 pm. Authorities clarified that a go-around manoeuvre conducted before landing was unrelated to the incident.
After landing, the passenger was handed over to airline security and the Central Industrial Security Force. Police were informed and a case has been registered. Further investigation is underway.
