Messi to Meet PM Modi, CJI and Army Chief as GOAT India Tour Concludes in Delhi

New Delhi, December 14, 2025: Argentine football legend Lionel Messi will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Monday during the Delhi leg of his GOAT India Tour, marking a high-profile conclusion to his visit to India.

Messi is scheduled to arrive in the national capital at 10.45 am and will begin his engagements with a short meet-and-greet session at a city hotel. He will then head to the Prime Minister’s official residence, where he is expected to spend around 20 minutes in interaction with Modi.

Following the meeting with the Prime Minister, the World Cup-winning footballer will visit the residence of a Member of Parliament, where a select gathering of senior dignitaries has been planned. Messi is set to meet the Chief Justice of India and the Army Chief at the MP’s house, which is understood to belong to Nationalist Congress Party leader Praful Patel, a former three-term president of the All India Football Federation. Argentina’s Ambassador to India, Mariano Agustin Caucino, is also expected to attend the meeting, along with Enforcement Directorate chief Rahul Navin and a few senior government officials.

After completing his interactions with top constitutional, diplomatic and military authorities, Messi will proceed to the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium, where several events have been lined up. He is scheduled to enter the stadium around 3.30 pm through a dedicated walkway leading directly to the pitch. Arrangements have been made for his convoy to leave straight for the airport once the programme concludes.

The stadium event will begin with a ceremonial welcome accompanied by music. Messi will then move to a smaller football ground, where Indian celebrities are expected to participate in a friendly match. He will greet the players and pose for group photographs with the teams.

A football clinic involving 22 children is scheduled to take place between 3.55 pm and 4.15 pm. Messi will then walk to the centre of the field, where two Indian cricketers will present him with a gift. In a symbolic gesture, the Argentine icon will hand over pre-signed jerseys to both cricketers, bringing the GOAT India Tour to a memorable close in the national capital.
