New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): A man was found brutally stabbed to death late Thursday night near Khajuri Chowk in northeast Delhi, sparking panic in the area and prompting a police investigation.

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Gajender, lived in Dayalpur and worked as a barber in the locality, officials said. His body was discovered in the Khadar area, not far from Khajuri Chowk, with multiple stab wounds.

Police said they received a call regarding the incident at around 11:27 p.m., after which officers from the New Usmanpur police station were sent to the scene.

“Upon reaching the spot, our team found a man lying with several stab injuries. He was declared dead on the spot. The deceased was later identified as Gajender,” a senior police official stated.

The area was secured and forensic teams were called in to collect evidence. Police sources said the nature of the injuries suggests a violent confrontation, though the motive behind the attack is still being probed.

Authorities have begun reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity and are speaking with residents who may have seen or heard anything unusual around the time of the incident.

“We are exploring all angles — whether this was a case of personal enmity, a robbery attempt, or some other issue. So far, no suspects have been detained,” the official added.

Gajender’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.

Locals who knew Gajender described him as quiet and hardworking. “He had been cutting hair in the neighborhood for years. It’s hard to believe someone would target him like this,” said a resident who lives near the crime scene.

Police have assured the public that efforts are underway to trace the attacker and bring them to justice. The incident has left the community on edge, with many demanding increased patrolling in the area during night hours.
