National Times Bureau :- A significant landslide struck the Lower Khalini locality in Shimla early Monday morning, severely affecting traffic along the stretch connecting Jhanjidi Road to Bihar Village Road. The incident occurred around 5 a.m., leaving residents struggling to commute during the morning hours.
While schools and colleges remained closed following prior orders from Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, daily wage earners and office-goers faced considerable difficulties, as even smaller vehicles were unable to navigate the blocked road. Reports indicate that only heavy vehicles are able to make limited passage.
Local residents have appealed to the district administration for urgent clearance and restoration of the road, highlighting that it serves as a vital link for the community. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, but no timeline has been announced yet for reopening the road.
