Chandigarh, July 2, 2025:The vigilance remand of senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, arrested in connection with a disproportionate assets case, has been extended by four more days. The decision came after vigilance officials presented new evidence and crucial findings before the court.
According to vigilance officials, the investigation has uncovered significant illegal assets linked to Majithia. These include benami (proxy-held) properties, suspicious financial transactions, and other economic activities under scrutiny.
Vigilance authorities informed the court that they require further custodial interrogation of Majithia based on these fresh pieces of evidence, necessitating additional remand.
Over the next four days, the vigilance team will conduct an in-depth interrogation of Majithia regarding all the properties and financial dealings currently under investigation.
This case has been ongoing for a long time, and Majithia has previously been questioned at multiple stages during the probe.
