Majithia’s Barrack Transfer Request Deferred, Bail Plea Hearing Set for Tomorrow

Mohali — The hearing on Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia’s petition seeking a change of barrack in jail has been postponed. The court announced that the matter will now be heard alongside his bail plea, which is already scheduled for hearing tomorrow.

Majithia, currently lodged in jail in a high-profile drug case, had requested a shift to a different barrack, citing personal and legal reasons. The court, however, decided to club the plea with his pending bail application, deferring any separate decision on the barrack change for the time being.

The courtroom witnessed heightened security, with a strong police presence deployed in and around the premises. Several supporters of the Akali leader gathered outside during the brief proceedings, though no untoward incidents were reported.

The outcome of the bail plea, expected to be heard tomorrow, may determine the course of both petitions as the legal battle continues.
