Mahendragarh Residents Receive Development Projects Worth Over ₹150 Crore

Mahendragarh, May 18 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unveiled a slew of development projects for Mahendragarh, inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for 30 schemes worth ₹152.87 crore. Among these, 15 projects costing ₹81.49 crore were inaugurated, while foundation stones were laid for another 15 projects worth ₹71.38 crore.

Addressing a public rally in Mahendragarh Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister announced that 1,450 tube well connections would be released within three months for farmers who have already deposited the required fees. Those who applied by 2023 but haven’t yet paid can still submit the fees and receive their connections soon.

Saini announced a new grain market for the constituency and proposed the construction of cow shelters wherever land is available. A sum of ₹1.51 crore was earmarked for establishing veterinary dispensaries and hospitals in villages like Usmapur, Barda, Khataud, or Jadwa, depending on land availability. Additionally, the veterinary dispensary in Digrota will be upgraded to a hospital at a cost of ₹40 lakh. Feasibility for a new VLDA college will also be examined and completed.

He further announced a new electricity sub-division in Akoda and pledged ₹3 crore to shift high-tension lines passing over residential areas. Two 33 kV substations will be set up – one in Dalanwas village and another in Mahendragarh city. Power supply will be arranged in 56 colonies, and LT lines in Mahendragarh will be replaced with LT cables. An outdated 33 kV line between Mahendragarh and Narnaul will be dismantled.

A primary health centre will be built in Khataud village, subject to land availability. Four minors—Nihalwas, Jairpur, Sisoth, and Khaira—will be reconstructed with a ₹6.60 crore allocation. Road strengthening covering 180 km will be undertaken in the constituency. Seven roads totaling 36.85 km will undergo special repair by June, while 16 roads covering 78.71 km will be renovated at a cost of ₹44.53 crore.

In 18 villages, schools will be renovated with ₹5.38 crore. A Haryana Roadways sub-depot will also be set up in Mahendragarh. An additional ₹5 crore has been announced for constituency-wide development projects.

Paying tribute to the region’s valour, Saini said Mahendragarh is known for its brave soldiers, with nearby Nasibpur being a historic site of the 1857 freedom struggle. He praised local heroes for their sacrifices in all major wars and recently during Operation Sindoor, stating that India will not tolerate any threat to its sovereignty.

Saini noted that since 2014, ₹1,570 crore worth of development work has been carried out in the Mahendragarh constituency—more than double the ₹700 crore under the previous Congress rule. Calling his administration a “triple-engine government,” he promised faster development.

Reiterating his commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047, Saini urged people to work together to make Haryana the engine of national growth. He claimed that 22 promises from the party’s election manifesto have been fulfilled, and work on 90 others is underway.

Irrigation and Women & Child Development Minister Shruti Choudhry said that the Pahalgam attack was avenged by the Indian Army and lauded the youth of South Haryana for their service on the borders. She highlighted ₹13.06 crore allocated to revive the Dohan and Krishna rivers and ₹55 crore for water supply in 18 villages including Jadwa and Kheri.

Health Minister Arti Singh Rao echoed this sentiment, calling South Haryana the land of heroes and urging the Chief Minister to establish an IIT in Mahendragarh. She also promised the speedy construction of a government hospital in the area.

MP Dharambir Singh proposed renaming the local medical college after freedom fighter Rao Tularam and requested the revival of the IMT project launched six years ago. He stressed implementing feasible development proposals submitted on the Panchayat portal before the assembly elections.

Local MLA Kanwar Singh Yadav thanked the Chief Minister for the ₹153 crore development package and requested the establishment of an IIT in the Central University campus, construction of a bypass, setting up of a women’s wellness centre, regularisation of illegal colonies, and adequate budget allocation for Mahendragarh Municipality.

The rally was attended by MLA Om Prakash Yadav, former ministers Ram Bilas Sharma and Abhay Singh Yadav, among other dignitaries.
