New Delhi, February 10: French President Emmanuel Macron will pay a three-day official visit to India starting February 17, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Tuesday. The visit is expected to further deepen the strategic partnership between India and France.
During his stay, President Macron will hold comprehensive discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi covering a wide range of bilateral issues. The talks will focus on strengthening cooperation in key sectors, including defence, technology, innovation, climate action and economic engagement.
The French President is also scheduled to attend the AI Impact Summit, reflecting the growing collaboration between the two countries in emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.
According to the MEA, the two leaders will exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
As part of the visit, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will travel to Mumbai, where they will jointly inaugurate the ‘India–France Year of Innovation’. The initiative aims to boost collaboration in research, startups, digital transformation and future-oriented technologies.
The visit is seen as a significant step in advancing the long-standing India–France strategic partnership, which has expanded steadily across political, economic and people-to-people domains.
