Libraries Form the Foundation of Society’s Intellectual Growth: Ranbir Gangwa

Chandigarh, December 15: Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Singh Gangwa on Monday said that the state government is giving top priority to education and is strengthening infrastructure across Haryana by developing schools, colleges, libraries and technical institutions.

He said the government is implementing several initiatives such as digital education, smart classrooms, scholarship schemes, resources for competitive exam preparation and the expansion of educational facilities in rural areas, ensuring direct benefits for students.

The minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone of the Rajaram Memorial Library building in Gangwa village of Hisar district. He said the library would emerge as a strong centre of education and knowledge for future generations and would provide better learning opportunities for children and youth in the region.

Gangwa said libraries play a vital role in the intellectual development of society, as they keep the lamp of knowledge burning continuously. He stressed that along with education, a positive environment and adequate resources are equally important in the present times.

Highlighting the role of libraries, the minister said they are not merely collections of books but also centres for the exchange of ideas, creative thinking and personal development. He added that the new library would help cultivate reading habits among children and guide them towards a brighter future.

He further said that even in the digital age, the importance of books has not diminished. Libraries help children and youth develop discipline, concentration and a lifelong habit of acquiring knowledge.
