Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): The Kings XI Field Hockey Society (F.H.C) has unveiled the poster for the 28th Annual King’s Protax Block Gold Cup, a premier field hockey tournament in Western Canada. Scheduled to take place from August 15th to 17th, 2025, at Hawkins Field, University of Calgary, the event promises to showcase top field hockey talent from across the region, offering captivating matches and a vibrant community spirit. Admission to the event is complimentary for all spectators, encouraging families, fans, and sports enthusiasts to attend and support local and visiting teams.
In an interview with the National Times, Narinder Aujla acknowledged Mandeep Duggal, a proud sponsor from Pro Tax Block, for his unwavering support and encouragement of youth in sports through field hockey. Aujla emphasized that with a legacy spanning nearly three decades, the King’s Gold Cup celebrates athleticism, sportsmanship, and community engagement. The event continues to be guided by the Kings XI motto: “Respect All, Peak None.”
Aujla said that this event marks the 1st ever 11 A-SIDE outdoor field hockey tournament in Alberta, with the winning team receiving a cash prize along with the trophy. On behalf of Kings XI, Aujla expressed gratitude for the community’s support, stating that the Kings Gold Cup has grown significantly over the past 27 years, becoming a staple in Calgary’s summer sports calendar. Aujla anticipates record attendance and a high level of competition as teams vie for the prestigious King’s Gold Cup Trophy.
