Kanina–Ateli to Get Blood Storage Units Soon, Ensuring Timely Availability of Life-Saving Blood

Chandigarh, January 14: Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao on Tuesday said that healthcare services are being continuously strengthened across the state in accordance with the directions of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. As part of this initiative, Blood Storage Units will be established along with First Referral Units at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Ateli and the Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital in Kanina of Mahendragarh district. The process is currently at its final stage.

Providing details, an official spokesperson said that with the commencement of these Blood Storage Units in Mahendragarh district, needy patients will be able to receive blood on time. This will enable prompt and effective treatment in emergency situations and complicated maternity cases.

The Health Minister said that residents of the region had been demanding Blood Storage Units for a long time, and this demand has now been fulfilled. The units will be set up along with First Referral Units, bringing significant relief to people of Ateli, Kanina, and surrounding rural areas. Patients will no longer have to travel to distant cities to arrange blood during surgeries.

She said that earlier, patients had to depend on far-off places such as Mahendragarh, Narnaul, or Rewari for blood, which often led to delays in treatment and posed serious risks to patients’ lives. With the safe storage and availability of blood ensured at the CHC level, valuable time and resources will be saved, and many lives will be protected.
