Japan’s Daikin to Invest ₹1,000 Crore in Haryana; New R&D Center to Boost Innovation and Jobs

Chandigarh, October 8, 2025: In a major boost to Haryana’s industrial and technological growth, the state government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan’s renowned company Daikin Industries Limited in Osaka on Wednesday. Under the agreement, Daikin will invest ₹1,000 crore to establish a new Research and Development (R&D) center in Haryana, creating significant employment opportunities for local youth.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who is currently leading a high-level delegation to Japan to promote foreign investment and expand global industrial activities in the state. The agreement was formalized at Daikin’s R&D center in Osaka, with Dr. Amit Aggarwal, Commissioner and Secretary of Industries and Commerce, representing Haryana, and Mr. Shogo Endo, Deputy Managing Director of Daikin Industries Limited, signing on behalf of the company.

The delegation included Haryana’s Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, HSIIDC Managing Director Dr. Yash Garg, and other senior officials.

Under this MoU, Daikin will establish a state-of-the-art R&D center in Haryana focused on developing advanced technologies and sustainable industrial solutions. The initiative marks a significant step toward positioning Haryana as a global hub for innovation and research.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the state government is fully committed to fostering innovation, research, and advanced manufacturing. He added that Daikin’s investment will not only generate employment but also strengthen Haryana’s integration into the global technology ecosystem.

The partnership is expected to enhance the state’s industrial capacity and help establish Haryana as a “Global Innovation Destination.”

Senior Daikin officials noted that the upcoming R&D center in Haryana will serve as a key research facility for the company and will further deepen bilateral trade and technological cooperation between Japan and Haryana.
