Japanese Seiren Company Signs MoU with Haryana, Commits ₹220 Crore Investment and 1,700 Jobs

Chandigarh, October 6 — During Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s visit to Japan, a delegation led by him signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan’s prestigious Seiren Company Limited in Tokyo. Under the agreement, Seiren will invest over ₹220 crore in a mega project in Rohtak, creating employment opportunities for more than 1,700 youth. Haryana’s Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh was also present during the signing.

Seiren Company Limited is a global leader in textile solutions and advanced material manufacturing, with its products serving sectors such as automobiles, interiors, environmental protection, lifestyle, cosmetics, electronic components, sensors, and magnetic materials.

CM Saini highlighted Haryana’s growing reputation as a robust industrial and technology hub. He said India’s expanding economy, young workforce, and large market, combined with Japan’s technological expertise, manufacturing skills, and financial resources, provide tremendous opportunities for bilateral growth. Haryana, which occupies only 1.3% of India’s geographic area, contributes 3.6% to the country’s GDP and has long been a preferred investment destination for Japanese multinational companies. In 2023-24, Haryana achieved exports worth ₹2.75 lakh crore.

The Chief Minister added that Haryana has over 2,000 textile units, making it the second-largest contributor to India’s textile production, particularly in synthetic and specialty fabrics. With numerous ITIs and skill development centers focused on textile and manufacturing, the state has a highly skilled workforce ready to support the industry. The MoU with Seiren will further strengthen Haryana’s industrial growth and generate substantial employment opportunities.

He emphasized that the investment will boost the manufacturing sector, elevate Haryana’s position on the global industrial map, and promote industrial innovation through the adoption of advanced technologies.

Senior officials present at the occasion included CM’s Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, Commissioner & Secretary of the Industry & Commerce Department Dr. Amit Agrawal, Commissioner & Secretary of the Department of External Cooperation Amneet P. Kumar, and MD & Director of Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) Yash Garg.
