Gurpreet Singh :- A devastating road accident near Malsian claimed the lives of two young men on the spot, while a husband and wife sustained serious injuries. A minor girl narrowly escaped unhurt in the incident, which has left the local community in shock.
According to information, the victims were travelling on a motorcycle from Lohian Khas towards Nakodar when the mishap occurred near a bank on Lohian Road. The accident reportedly took place after their motorcycle collided with another bike coming from the opposite direction, leading to a loss of balance.
In the aftermath of the collision, two of the riders fell onto the road and were run over by an overloaded tractor-trolley carrying sand, resulting in their immediate death. The sudden and tragic sequence of events caused panic in the area.
The injured couple was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Nakodar, from where they were referred to a hospital in Jalandhar due to their critical condition. Meanwhile, the driver of the tractor-trolley fled the scene after the accident.
Police officials have registered a case based on the statement of a family member of one of the deceased and have initiated an investigation. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the absconding driver. Authorities suspect overspeeding and negligence as possible causes of the accident.
