Jalandhar (National Times): In a significant breakthrough, Counter-Intelligence Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur Police, with the assistance of Gujarat Police, have arrested Lavish Kumar from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Lavish is a close associate of foreign-based terrorist Arsh Dalla and Jindi Mehandipuria, the brother of slain terrorist Teja Mehandipuria.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Lavish was operating under the direct instructions of Arsh Dalla, engaging in extortion activities, including firing at targets to intimidate victims. Multiple cases of murder, attempted extortion through gunfire, and other serious offenses are registered against him.
Lavish had conducted reconnaissance on a liquor contractor, targeting them for an extortion demand of Rs 50 lakh. He was in constant communication with foreign-based handlers and was planning to execute a high-profile crime in Punjab.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav described the arrest as a “significant step in our ongoing campaign against terrorist-gangster networks with international links.” He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Gujarat Police and DGP Gujarat for their exemplary support in this inter-state operation.
Further investigations are underway to identify additional operatives and trace both backward and forward linkages in the network.
