Jaguar Fighter Jet Crashes in Rajasthan, Claims Lives of Two IAF Pilots

Churu (Rajasthan), July 9, 2025 — A routine training mission turned tragic on Wednesday when a Jaguar fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Rajasthan’s Churu district, resulting in the death of two pilots on board.

The aircraft, identified as a twin-seater trainer version of the Jaguar, had taken off from Suratgarh air base earlier in the day. It went down around 1:25 pm, crashing into an agricultural field near Bhanoda village, according to SHO Rajaldesar, Kamlesh.

Though the IAF has not yet released the names of the deceased pilots, it confirmed in an official statement that both personnel sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Fortunately, there was no damage reported to civilian property on the ground.

“The IAF deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families in this time of grief,” the statement read.

A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the crash.
