IPL Prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi Joins India U-19 Squad for England Tour

Mumbai, May 22, 2025: The BCCI on Wednesday announced the 16-member India Under-19 squad for its upcoming tour of England, with young cricketing sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi making the cut. The tour, set to run from June 24 to July 23, will include a warm-up match, five Youth ODIs, and two multi-day games against England U-19.

Captaining the side will be Mumbai’s Ayush Mhatre, who turned heads with his strong IPL 2025 showing for Chennai Super Kings. Making waves alongside him is 14-year-old Suryavanshi, whose explosive debut season with Rajasthan Royals placed him firmly on the national radar.

Suryavanshi’s IPL run included 252 runs across seven matches at a strike rate of 206.56. His standout performance came against Gujarat Titans, where he smashed a blistering 101 off just 38 balls—making him the youngest centurion in men’s T20 cricket.

The full squad features Ayush Mhatre (captain), Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Vihaan Malhotra, Maulyarajsinh Chavda, Rahul Kumar, Abhigyan Kundu (vice-captain & wicketkeeper), Harvansh Singh (wicketkeeper), R S Ambrish, Kanishk Chouhan, Khilan Patel, Henil Patel, Yudhajit Guha, Pranav Raghavendra, Mohammed Enaan, Aditya Rana, and Anmoljeet Singh.

This selection underscores the BCCI’s focus on nurturing next-generation talent and providing international exposure to players already proving themselves on the big stage. With Suryavanshi and Mhatre leading the charge, the team is expected to offer stiff competition on English soil.
