IndiGo to Launch 10 Special Relief Flights from Jeddah Tomorrow to Evacuate Stranded Indians

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Monday, March 2, 2026, announced that IndiGo will operate 10 special relief flights from Jeddah to India on Tuesday, March 3, to assist passengers stranded by the intensifying conflict in West Asia. This major evacuation effort comes after a weekend of massive flight cancellations caused by the closure of critical airspaces across the Middle East. The Ministry confirmed that these operations are being conducted in close coordination with the Consulate General of India in Jeddah to prioritize the safe return of Indian nationals.

While the relief mission is a high priority, officials cautioned that the 10 scheduled flights remain subject to necessary regulatory approvals and the “prevailing airspace conditions,” which have become increasingly volatile. The Ministry also noted that while Indian carriers are leading these emergency efforts, foreign airlines operating between India and the Gulf are currently maintaining only limited services. These operations are also heavily dependent on the safety of the flight corridors, which have been severely restricted due to ongoing military hostilities in the region.

The Indian government is reportedly monitoring the situation in real-time to facilitate the smooth movement of these special aircraft. Stranded passengers and their families are advised to stay in constant contact with the Indian Consulate in Jeddah for the latest updates on flight timings and boarding procedures. These special operations represent a critical first phase in the government’s response to the growing crisis, aimed at ensuring the security and homecoming of Indian citizens caught in the crossfire of the regional war.
