IndiGo flight makes emergency landing at IGI Airport due to engine failure-like situation

Rajeev Sharma :- Panic was averted after an IndiGo flight from Visakhapatnam to New Delhi made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport following a mid-air engine failure scare.

According to sources from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the aircraft landed safely on runway 28 at around 10:39 am. A total of 161 passengers were onboard at the time of the incident. Airline staff along with the DIAL terminal operations team promptly attended to passengers after landing.

The Delhi Police confirmed that the flight experienced an “engine failure-like situation” before safely touching down at the airport.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Fire Service said it received an emergency call at 10:53 am, but confirmed that the aircraft had already landed safely by then.

All airport operations have since returned to normal. No injuries have been reported so far, and further details are awaited.
