Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar to visit Canada next week to attend G7 foreign ministers’ meet: Anita Anand

Toronto (Rajeev Sharma): Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, has formally confirmed that the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will convene in Niagara, Ontario, from November 11 to 12, 2025, under Canada’s G7 Presidency.

The high-level meeting will assemble foreign ministers from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, along with invited nations including Australia, Brazil, India, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, the Republic of Korea, South Africa, and Ukraine.

The Indian Foreign Minister, attending as a special guest, will participate in discussions on key global challenges including security in the Indo-Pacific region, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, climate action, economic resilience, and strengthening multilateral cooperation.

This gathering underscores India’s growing role on the world stage and Canada’s effort to foster inclusive global dialogue beyond the traditional G7 framework. The inclusion of emerging economies such as India, Brazil, and South Africa highlights a broader approach to addressing worldwide issues that transcend regional boundaries.

Under Canada’s leadership, the 2025 G7 agenda emphasizes peace, democracy, sustainable development, and technology-driven innovation. The meeting is also expected to feature bilateral talks between Canada and India, aiming to strengthen diplomatic relations and explore new avenues for cooperation in trade, education, and defense.

The event will serve as a crucial platform for building global consensus amid rising geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty, reaffirming Canada’s commitment to multilateralism and inclusive diplomacy.
