National Times Bureau :- The high-voltage Asia Cup clash between India and Pakistan is set to take place this evening, but the match has sparked protests in several parts of the country. The opposition to the game comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, which left tensions running high between the two nations. Protesters argue that Pakistan has cost Indian lives, and therefore the BCCI should not engage in cricketing ties with the neighboring country.
Amidst this backdrop, a special havan was organized in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, by the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction). The ceremony drew a large turnout of cricket enthusiasts and local residents who gathered to pray for India’s victory. Participants said the ritual was intended to send a message to the BCCI while also seeking divine blessings for Team India.
“We believe this match should not have taken place at all. Since it is happening, we are praying to God for India’s win,” one supporter said.
During the gathering, tributes were also paid to soldiers who laid down their lives in Operation Sindoor. Attendees observed prayers for the martyrs’ souls, stressing that their sacrifice must never be forgotten. The event saw people coming together not just for India’s triumph on the field but also to honor the nation’s fallen heroes.
