India Defeats South Korea 4-1 to Win Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025, Secures Spot in 2026 World Cup

Rajgir, September 7: The Indian men’s hockey team lifted the Asia Cup 2025 title on Sunday with a commanding 4-1 victory over South Korea in the final at the Rajgir Sports Complex in Bihar. With this triumph, India claimed the Asia Cup crown for the fourth time and also booked its berth in the 2026 Hockey World Cup.

India struck early, as Sukhjeet Singh scored in the opening minute to put the hosts ahead. In the second quarter, Dilpreet Singh extended the lead to 2-0 before netting again in the third quarter to strengthen India’s dominance. In the final quarter, Amit Rohidas converted a penalty corner, making it 4-0 for India. South Korea managed a consolation goal through Son Dayan.

This win is especially significant as it came against five-time champions South Korea, who had only been runners-up once before, also losing to India in the 2007 final. India last lifted the Asia Cup in 2017 after defeating Malaysia in the title clash.
