New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): India has strongly condemned a series of attacks targeting airports in Saudi Arabia, calling strikes against civilian infrastructure unacceptable and expressing solidarity with the Saudi government and people.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said the attacks in recent days had targeted Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The incidents have reportedly resulted in civilian casualties and injuries.
New Delhi expressed deep concern over the loss of civilian lives and conveyed its condolences to the families who have lost relatives in the attacks. India also wished those injured a swift recovery.
The MEA stressed that civilian facilities should not be targeted and described such attacks as “completely unacceptable”, underlining India’s position against violence directed at infrastructure used by civilians.
India also conveyed its support to Saudi Arabia at a time of heightened concern over the security of its civilian facilities. The government said it stands with the people and leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The statement comes amid growing regional security concerns, with attacks on civilian locations raising fears about their potential impact on ordinary residents and international travel.
By issuing the condemnation, India reaffirmed its support for the safety of civilians and the protection of civilian infrastructure while extending its condolences to those affected by the attacks.
