Dharamshala, December 14, 2025: India defeated South Africa by seven wickets in the third T20 International, successfully chasing a target of 118 with three wickets down in 15.5 overs. Shivam Dube sealed the victory in dramatic fashion by hitting a four and a six off successive deliveries, though he was dismissed for 10 runs soon after finishing the match.
Earlier, South Africa were bowled out for 117 after opting to bat first at the Dharamshala Stadium on Sunday evening. The visitors lost three wickets for just seven runs, putting them under early pressure. Quinton de Kock managed only one run, while Reeza Hendricks and Dewald Brevis were dismissed for two runs each.
Aiden Markram held one end together and played a fighting knock of 61 runs, even as wickets continued to fall at the other end. Donovan Ferreira added 20 runs to provide some resistance. For India, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets each, while Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, India’s openers gave the chase a brisk start. The Abhishek Sharma–Shubman Gill pair added 68 runs off just 31 balls. Abhishek top-scored with 35 off 18 deliveries, while Gill contributed 28. After Abhishek’s dismissal, Tilak Varma anchored the innings with an unbeaten 26 to guide India home comfortably.
With this win, India sealed the third T20I in convincing fashion, showcasing both disciplined bowling and aggressive batting under pressure.
