Washington DC (Rajeev Sharma): US President Donald Trump took to Truth Social with a sharp rebuke of India and Russia, criticizing both nations’ economic policies while issuing a warning to Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev.
“I don’t care what India does with Russia. They can take their dead economies down together, for all I care. We have done very little business with India, their tariffs are too high, among the highest in the world. Likewise, Russia and the USA do almost no business together. Let’s keep it that way, and tell Medvedev, the failed former President of Russia, who thinks he’s still President, to watch his words. He’s entering very dangerous territory,” Trump wrote.
The post comes amid growing global attention on India’s deepening economic engagement with Russia, particularly in energy and defense sectors, and ongoing US concerns about trade barriers. Trump’s remarks also highlight his longstanding criticism of India’s tariff structure, which he has frequently labeled as unfair to American businesses.
His comments targeting Medvedev further escalate tensions with Moscow, as the former Russian president has been making increasingly provocative statements against the West in recent weeks.
Trump’s post underscores his administration’s continued emphasis on pressuring trade partners while maintaining a confrontational stance toward both Russia and India.
