Surrey (Amrit Dhot): The “Ignite a Dream” Educational Awards were highlighted at a Surrey Fire Fighters community event attended by the Mayor of Surrey, firefighters and other dignitaries, bringing attention to the importance of creating greater educational opportunities for children and youth in the community.
The Ignite a Dream program is designed to help reduce barriers that can prevent children from accessing educational opportunities. Through financial and educational support, the initiative aims to help deserving recipients pursue their studies, develop their abilities and work toward their long-term goals.

The program is based on the principle that education can play an important role in strengthening individuals, families and communities. By providing opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable, the awards seek to help young people move forward with greater confidence and resources.
The Surrey Fire Fighters’ involvement also highlighted the broader role of community organizations in supporting children and encouraging positive social development. The participation of the Mayor of Surrey and other community dignitaries reflected the importance of collaboration in creating opportunities for the next generation.
Organizers say the vision extends beyond academic achievement. Recipients are encouraged to use their education and experiences to become active and contributing members of society and, in the future, give back to their communities.
The “Ignite a Dream” Educational Awards ultimately focus on providing children with both the opportunity and support to pursue their aspirations, reinforcing the message that access to education can help young people achieve beyond the circumstances they face today.
