HRDS INDIA, Serving Humanity with Compassion: Atma Nambi Jee

Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): Atma Nambi Jee, the esteemed Spiritual Guru and President of HRDS INDIA (High Range Rural Development Society), is spearheading a transformative mission to uplift India’s most marginalized communities. In an exclusive interview with National Times, he shared insightful perspectives on the organization’s journey and the vision driving their grassroots work since 1995.

HRDS INDIA is a non-governmental organization dedicated to tribal and rural development across India, with a core vision to build a society where every tribal member enjoys the right to survival, protection, and progress. “We have been actively working in remote and inaccessible regions to provide basic amenities and essential services to disadvantaged communities,” stated Swami Jee.

With a primary focus on Kerala and Tamil Nadu, HRDS INDIA addresses key areas such as education, healthcare, livelihood, women empowerment, and environmental conservation. “Our efforts are centered on rehabilitating entire communities and fostering total human development. We aim to collaborate with local organizations and promote social justice and self-reliance,” he added.

Swami Jee emphasized that their projects aim to unlock the inner potential of individuals, helping communities become self-reliant and socially aware. “In this manner, we foresee equitable economic conditions for poor communities by realizing the potential of personal skills and resources.”

He stated that their flagship projects include, Sadhgraha, a tribal housing project focused on safe, dignified shelter. Jwalamukhi, a women empowerment program through microcredit and SHGs. Ekagrah, an educational and skill development initiative under DDU-GKY (Govt. of India). Niramaya, a center for traditional medicine and research in Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Siddha, and Yoga. Karshaka, a sustainable livelihood through cultivation of medicinal plants, organic farming, sericulture, animal husbandry, and agriculture development.

Swami Jee noted, “Our work spans across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Tripura, Assam, and Jharkhand. These projects foster community motivation, empowerment, and sustainable growth.”
Reflecting on HRDS INDIA’s core philosophy, Atma Nambi Jee stated, “Where there is a need for help, you often won’t find a helping hand. This truth led to the formation of HRDS INDIA. We want to touch the lives of the poor and needy, ease their miseries, and help make their lives better within our capacity and with deep compassion.”
Swami Jee concluded with a powerful message, “It’s not only the poor in Indian villages we are focused on; it’s the whole of India. We are here to stretch out our hands to the needy, wherever they may be.”
