Washington, D.C. (National Times): In a dramatic escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, the United States has carried out targeted strikes on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. The high-stakes operation was confirmed by President Donald Trump, who issued a series of strong-worded statements late Tuesday night.
Labeling Iran as the “bully of the Middle East,” Trump warned Tehran that if peace is not pursued urgently, future military responses from the U.S. would be “far greater and easier.” Referencing decades of Iranian hostility, Trump said, “For 40 years, Iran has been saying ‘Death to Israel’ and ‘Death to the U.S.’ They’ve been responsible for the deaths and maiming of our soldiers using roadside bombs… This ends now.”
He specifically mentioned the late Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, who he blamed for the deaths of many American troops. “I decided long ago not to let this continue. And it won’t,” Trump stated firmly.
Trump praised Israel for its partnership in the operation, thanking Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli military. “We worked as a team like perhaps no team has worked before. I want to thank the Israeli military for the incredible job they’ve done, and most importantly, I want to congratulate the great American patriots who flew those magnificent machines tonight,” he said.
According to Trump, the targeted strikes represented one of the most complex operations in recent decades. “Tonight’s target was by far the most difficult—and possibly the most lethal. But we hit it. And if peace does not come quickly, we will strike other targets with precision, speed, and unmatched skill. Most of them can be neutralized in a matter of minutes.”
The President ended his address by expressing hope that further military action would not be necessary, stating, “Hopefully, we will no longer need the services of our brave pilots and these advanced capabilities—but if required, we will not hesitate.”
The Pentagon has yet to release an official statement on the scale of the damage inflicted on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Global leaders and analysts are closely monitoring the situation as fears of a broader regional conflict mount.
