Healthy Citizens Are the Foundation of a Strong Society and Self-Reliant Nation: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, January 6, 2026 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday said that healthy citizens form the backbone of a strong society, a robust economy and a self-reliant nation, stressing that individual well-being directly contributes to social and national development.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the inauguration of Sovaka Lab in Gurugram, where he highlighted the state government’s commitment to expanding access to modern diagnostic and treatment facilities. He said the Haryana government has been making advanced healthcare services accessible to the public through a public-private partnership model, under which facilities such as CT scan, MRI, haemodialysis and cath labs are being provided across the state.
Welcoming the Chief Minister at the event, Dr Lal PathLabs Chairman Padma Shri Brigadier Dr Arvind Lal felicitated him on behalf of the organisation.
Saini said the state government has been consistently strengthening the healthcare sector and is currently providing free dialysis facilities for kidney patients. He added that several other health-related services are also being offered to citizens to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment. Emphasising the role of diagnostic laboratories, the Chief Minister said regular health check-ups can help people detect illnesses early and avoid serious diseases.
Referring to Gurugram’s rapid development, Saini said the city is emerging as a major medical and health hub with a distinct identity in the healthcare sector. He noted that the establishment of Sovaka Lab marks another significant step towards strengthening health security in the region and will contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services. He also urged healthcare institutions to extend special facilities to the poor and underprivileged sections of society.
The event was attended by Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma, Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary and other dignitaries.
