Haryana Transfers ₹1,945.99 Crore to Farmers’ Accounts for Kharif Procurement; Over 15.73 Lakh Metric Tonnes of Paddy Purchased

Chandigarh, October 9: The Haryana government has transferred ₹1,945.99 crore directly into the bank accounts of farmers under the ongoing Kharif procurement season 2025–26, ensuring timely payment at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

According to official data, paddy procurement in the state is being carried out through the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal, with 1,13,083 registered farmers selling their produce so far. The Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department spokesperson stated that 18,07,936.07 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have arrived in mandis across Haryana, out of which 15,73,715.26 lakh metric tonnes have already been purchased.

Of the total, 9,76,370.73 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been lifted from mandis. Procurement operations are being jointly managed by the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, HAFED, and the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation.

The spokesperson emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring full and prompt payments directly into farmers’ accounts without any deductions. The MSP for paddy has been fixed at ₹2,389 per quintal, as per the Government of India’s mandate. Farmers have been urged to bring well-dried paddy to the mandis, maintaining the prescribed moisture level of 17%.

He added that robust arrangements have been made for the smooth purchase and lifting of paddy. In addition, the cleaning of paddy brought by farmers is being handled by commission agents (arhatiyas) at their own level. The government also bears the expenses for labour charges related to mandi operations, including loading, weighing, stitching, and transportation.

The Haryana government reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and efficiency in the procurement process, ensuring that every registered farmer receives fair payment on time.
