Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma will attend the second edition of the Heritage and City Walk organized by the Haryana Tourism Corporation at Ethnic India, Rai in Sonipat on Saturday, May 30. Initiated under the campaign banner “Aao Chalen Apni Virasat Ke Saath” (Let’s Walk with Our Heritage), the program aims to connect the youth and tourists with the historical, cultural, and religious heritage of the state. The Tourism Minister will participate as the chief guest and join walkers on a special trail stretching from Ethnic India to the historic Khalsa Memorial to explore its legacy.
The Heritage and City Walk will be conducted simultaneously across seven prominent historical locations and tourist complexes in the state on Saturday from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The Haryana Tourism Corporation has identified Pinjore, Morni Hills, Kurukshetra, Surajkund, Rewari, Ballabhgarh, and Ethnic India, Rai as the focal venues for the event. Dedicated heritage guides will be stationed at each site to provide participants with detailed insights into the features and glorious history of these monuments.
The designated walking circuits include tours of the Yadvindra Gardens, Gurudwara Manji Sahib, Bhima Devi Temple Site Museum, Dharamandal Pinjore, and natural stepwells in Pinjore. The Morni Hills trail will cover the historic Morni Fort, while Kurukshetra will showcase the Jyotisar pilgrimage site, Virat Swarup, and the Mahabharata Experience Centre Museum. The Surajkund route will take participants from the historic reservoir to the Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary. In Rewari, the walk will proceed from the Sandpiper Tourist Complex to Bada Talaab, and in Ballabhgarh, it will trace the path from Raja Nahar Singh Palace to Rani Ki Chhatri.
The Haryana Tourism Corporation has set a registration fee of 500 rupees per person for the event. All participating walkers will be provided with drinking water, tea, coffee, refreshments, and a special commemorative cap during the historical excursions.
