Chandigarh, October 7, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the Haryana Pavilion at the ongoing World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, emphasizing the state’s vital contribution to India’s overall development. Speaking at the event, Saini said Haryana will play a significant role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s $5 trillion economy vision, as India continues to emerge as a major global economic power.
He noted that despite covering only 1.34% of India’s land area and 2.09% of its population, Haryana has become one of the leading engines of the country’s economic growth. The state ranks second nationwide and first in North India in providing logistic facilities to industries, and Gurugram alone hosts offices of over 400 Fortune companies, he added.

Highlighting Haryana’s industrial strength, Saini stated that every second car on Indian roads is made in Haryana, and the state also manufactures 52% of the country’s tractors. It ranks second in food grain contribution to the central pool and has produced the highest number of Olympic and international sports medalists among Indian states.
Describing Haryana as the “land of hope and opportunities,” Saini said it is one of the most prosperous states in India, with a strong presence in automobiles, IT, and other industries. The state boasts robust infrastructure, including wide highways, expressways, railway networks, and metro connectivity. Every district is connected by a national highway, and every village has access to electricity and adequate water supply for irrigation and drinking.
In education, Haryana has established numerous world-class institutions offering modern and specialized learning.

The Chief Minister highlighted Haryana’s progress in Ease of Doing Business, saying that the state has developed an investor-friendly ecosystem, boosting confidence among entrepreneurs. “Our government is actively promoting startups and MSMEs,” Saini said, noting that 7.66 lakh micro, small, and medium enterprises have been established in the past 11 years, providing employment to 39 lakh people.
He further announced that Haryana has emerged as the 7th largest state for startups in India, with 9,500 registered startups. “We aim to make Haryana the No. 1 startup hub of the country,” he added. Gurugram, he said, has already become a global center for IT services and startups. The government plans to triple the number of startups in the coming years, having recently provided ₹1.14 crore in financial aid to 22 startups.
To further support innovation, Saini revealed that the state will soon establish a ₹2,000 crore ‘Fund of Funds’ to provide financial backing for young entrepreneurs, enabling them to pursue their ideas without monetary constraints.
The Chief Minister, along with Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary Amneet P. Kumar (Foreign Cooperation Department), Commissioner and Secretary Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal (Industries and Commerce), HSIIDC MD Dr. Yash Garg, and other senior officials, toured the Haryana Pavilion as part of the Japan visit.
