Chandigarh — The Haryana government has decided to observe September 23 as ‘Haryana Veer and Martyrs’ Day’ to honor the brave souls who laid down their lives for the nation. On this occasion, public gatherings, ceremonies, and discussions will be organized across all districts to pay homage to the martyrs.
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, in a letter addressed to all Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, directed that families of martyrs and recipients of gallantry awards in wars be honored with mementos during the programs. He also instructed that freedom fighters and veterans of the Kargil War be invited as esteemed guests and given due respect.
