Chandigarh, June 25 – Haryana’s Financial Commissioner of Revenue and Disaster Management, Dr. Sumita Mishra, announced that the state government will restructure and modernize all registration offices across Haryana, modeled after the functioning of Passport Seva Kendras. The initiative reflects Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s commitment to making property transactions simpler and more accessible for citizens.
Dr. Mishra made this announcement while reviewing the department’s performance. The modernization will begin in phases, starting with high-density and high-transaction districts such as Panchkula, Gurugram, and Faridabad. She emphasized that the transformation aims not only at improving physical infrastructure but also at enhancing service delivery, increasing transparency, and ensuring accountability within the revenue administration.
The revamped model will feature citizen-centric amenities such as online slot booking, well-equipped waiting areas, real-time digital display systems, and dedicated help desks. Signage and instructions will be available in local languages for ease of access. Addressing recurring issues like slow server responses at sub-divisional and tehsil levels, Dr. Mishra directed the establishment of two state-level revenue data centers with storage capacities of two petabytes each. She instructed that tenders for these facilities be issued within the next ten days.
While reviewing the Haryana Large Scale Mapping Project, Dr. Mishra instructed officials to complete the updating of Tatima (land parcel maps) across all districts by the end of August. This task is vital for accurate land demarcation and speedy, dispute-free registrations. These reforms are part of the state’s broader vision to promote digital governance, improve citizen services, and create a transparent and corruption-free property registration system.
So far, 418 out of 440 pilot villages in 22 districts accounting for 95% completion have successfully completed Tatima updates. This marks significant progress compared to the 380 villages reported on May 8, with 38 more villages added in just over a month. Several districts, including Charkhi Dadri, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Panchkula, Panipat, Rohtak, Sirsa, and Sonipat, have achieved 100% updates. Gurugram has also shown notable progress, completing 80% of the work in 11 new villages. These efforts have led to a sharp increase in processed records, with 3,53,680 Tatima records completed as of June 25 up by 23,005 since May 8.
