Haryana to Emerge as a New Powerhouse in Logistics and Supply Chain: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Kurukshetra, June 21 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday inaugurated the PM Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal at the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Dhirpur, Kurukshetra, emphasizing that the state is poised to become a major force in logistics and supply chain development. The Chief Minister said the facility would open new avenues of prosperity for farmers, entrepreneurs, and traders, while also creating employment opportunities for the youth.

The 18-acre modern cargo terminal, developed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, was inaugurated in the presence of dignitaries and industrial leaders. The terminal provides state-of-the-art facilities including customs clearance, warehousing, and cold storage services under one roof.

“This is not just an infrastructure project, but a vision towards a prosperous and globally connected Haryana. With investments from Dubai-based Saraf Group, this ICD marks a milestone in the state’s economic and industrial journey,” said CM Saini.

He highlighted that the terminal will enhance the ease of doing business, reduce logistics costs by 20–30%, and significantly cut down delivery time, making Haryana’s exports more competitive in international markets.

The Chief Minister stated that the ICD will act as a “Gateway to Global Trade” for North India, particularly benefiting neighboring states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The facility also complements other Saraf Group initiatives in the state, including a multimodal logistics park in Palwal (115 acres) and a transshipment hub in Rewari (30 acres).

During the event, Saini stressed that Haryana’s government is committed to reducing regulatory burdens and enhancing investor confidence. “Over 1,100 compliance procedures have been simplified under our Ease of Doing Business framework. We are also reforming land pooling policy to facilitate the creation of 10 new mega-scale integrated model townships,” he added.

Referring to Haryana’s consistent top performance in the LEADS (Logistics Ease Across Different States) rankings, the Chief Minister noted the state’s second-place national rank and its continued leadership among landlocked states from 2022 to 2024.

The CM urged young entrepreneurs to make full use of these facilities to help transform Haryana into the country’s largest export hub.

The inauguration ceremony also witnessed the presence of former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, Saraf Group Vice Chairman Sharafuddin Saraf, Group Chairman Salah Saraf, and several senior officials.
