Haryana to Become Drone Technology Hub, Says CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, September 8 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the state is set to emerge as a hub for drone technology, innovation, and advanced manufacturing, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.

Speaking at the convocation ceremony of drone pilots and technicians at Haryana Niwas, the Chief Minister handed out certificates to 252 drone pilots and 136 drone technicians certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). He called this milestone a major leap forward in Haryana’s drone journey.

Saini said the country’s first drone manufacturing technology hub is being set up in Sisai village of Hisar district, which will also be the largest hub in South Asia. The facility will provide modern services in drone production, repair, and training. On the occasion, he also e-launched five drones for the Army and armed forces and inaugurated AVPL International’s Agriculture Drone Pavilion at Sisai.

Highlighting women’s participation, the Chief Minister noted that 53 of the 388 certified drone professionals are women, setting an example of empowerment. He said schemes like Namo Drone Didi and Kisan Drone are helping farmers and rural communities by saving time, labor, and costs while increasing productivity and income.

Underlining India’s global rise, Saini pointed out that under PM Modi’s leadership, the country has moved from 11th to 4th place in the world economy since 2014 and is on its way to becoming the third-largest. Congratulating the graduates, he said they will bring glory to Haryana and the nation in the future.

Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh added that despite having less than 2 percent of India’s population, Haryana continues to lead in multiple fields. Today’s achievement, he said, will inject new momentum and energy into the state’s growth in drone technology.

The event was attended by Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, Advisor to the Department of Foreign Cooperation Pawan Chaudhary, AVPL International’s Deep Sihag, Dr. Preet Sandhu, and retired Lieutenant General R.K. Anand, along with senior officials.
