Haryana Technical Education Focuses on Industry Linkages, Top Students Visit Infosys Chandigarh

Chandigarh, November 19 — The Haryana Technical Education Department has intensified its efforts to connect students with the industry, giving them direct exposure to modern technologies, real-time workflows and emerging research trends. As part of this initiative, 16 top-performing students visited the Infosys campus at Rajiv Gandhi IT Park in Chandigarh under the leadership of Director General Prabhjot Singh.

DG Prabhjot Singh said that industry exposure is crucial for preparing students to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global tech ecosystem. He added that the department is consistently organising such educational visits to bridge academic learning with industry practices.

A departmental spokesperson said final-year Computer Science students from all five State Institutes of Technology (SITs), Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology (Hisar) and Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology (Murthal) participated in the visit.

Upon reaching Infosys, the team was welcomed by Dimple Bhasin and Harpreet Singh. The company organised a special interactive session for students on artificial intelligence, research-driven innovations and new opportunities emerging in the IT sector.

Students were then taken on an extensive tour of the Infosys campus, where they observed advanced technologies, cutting-edge labs, work culture and the real-time professional environment of the IT industry.

The spokesperson added that before this visit, the department had also taken 28 students on an academic tour to ISRO Ahmedabad. The Infosys visit marks the next major step in the same series. Recently, students of computer engineering, electronics and communication, and electrical engineering were taken to ISRO Ahmedabad, CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh, PEC Chandigarh, SCL Mohali, NABI and IIT extension campus for field exposure.

The spokesperson also said that under the guidance of DG Prabhjot Singh, more than 400 faculty members from civil, textile, mechanical, computer, electrical and electronics & communication branches have visited the IIT Delhi campus as part of capacity-building efforts.
