Haryana Plans Fresh Solid Waste Management Projects for Faridabad, Gurugram and Manesar

Chandigarh, September 15 – In a major push to achieve the goals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission, the Haryana government is drafting new solid waste management plans exclusively for Faridabad, Gurugram, and Manesar. Separate Request for Proposals (RFPs) will be prepared for these cities, distinct from the rest of the state.

Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel announced the initiative while chairing a meeting at Haryana Niwas, Chandigarh, attended by representatives of 42 solid waste management agencies from across the country. He underlined that the state is determined to introduce a new and effective model for urban waste management in the National Capital Region.

Goel assured agencies that their collaboration with the Haryana government would offer them “a unique and positive experience.” He added that while many companies had already worked in major metros like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai, Haryana would provide a new environment marked by timely support and transparent processes.

Addressing concerns of potential partners, the minister promised there would be no delays in payments under the projects. He also assured that the government would support agencies at every step, while incorporating their valuable suggestions into the upcoming RFPs.

The meeting also saw participation from Urban Local Bodies Department Commissioner and Secretary Vikas Gupta, Director General Pankaj, and other senior officials.
