Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh) — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met with a delegation from the World Bank on Wednesday to accelerate artificial intelligence implementation, digital governance, skill development, and data-driven administrative systems across the state. During the session in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister reiterated that the state government aims to leverage advanced technologies to increase administrative transparency, expedite public service delivery, and enhance decision-making tools for civil servants.
The World Bank delegation briefed the Chief Minister on the AI Sandbox developed in collaboration with the Haryana government, announcing that its results will be showcased at the Korea Digital Summit scheduled for October 19 to 22 in South Korea. The international organization extended a formal invitation to Chief Minister Saini to participate in the summit alongside global information technology ministers and digital experts. To expand technical capacity, the state plans to introduce “PPP 2.0″—an updated version of its Parivar Pehchan Patra program—alongside a state-level Data Lake and an “AI Gurukul” skill program designed to deliver industry-oriented training across every district.
Additionally, Haryana requested World Bank assistance to design an Air Quality Decision Support System under its Clean Air Programme, integrating insights gathered by state delegates during a recent study visit to China. The initiative will utilize AI-driven environmental analytics to monitor and control regional air pollution. Representatives at the meeting noted that approximately 250 startups and technology firms recently participated in an innovation challenge hosted through the AI Sandbox, with selected solutions now slated for direct deployment across various state government departments.
