Haryana Minister Ranbir Gangwa Honors Lord Vishwakarma on Vishwakarma Day, Highlights Skill Development and Entrepreneurship

Chandigarh, October 22: Haryana’s Minister for Public Works and Public Health Engineering, Ranbir Gangwa, paid tribute to Lord Vishwakarma on Vishwakarma Day, calling him the first engineer, artisan, and master architect of creation. He said the life of Lord Vishwakarma inspires creativity, hard work, and innovation. “This festival is not only an occasion to honor artisans and laborers, but also a reminder that dedication and sincerity in any work constitute true devotion,” he added. The day holds special significance for workers, craftsmen, engineers, and those associated with industries.

Minister Gangwa attended the Vishwakarma Day event organized by the Vishwakarma Charitable Trust in Hisar on Wednesday as the chief guest. He emphasized that Lord Vishwakarma teaches the importance of using knowledge and technology for societal welfare and human progress. “In today’s era, skill development and entrepreneurship are critically important. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini have prioritized these areas,” he noted.

Highlighting the significance of skill development for students, he said, “In today’s competitive world, relying solely on traditional academic knowledge is not enough. Students must acquire diverse skills to succeed and lead a fulfilling life. The government is continuously working to promote skill development and entrepreneurship, seeing investment in these areas as an investment in the nation’s bright future.”

Reflecting on Haryana’s industrial growth over the past decade, Gangwa said that pro-industry and labor welfare policies have positioned the state among India’s most progressive industrial centers. Chief Minister Saini envisions a Haryana where youth are provided not only education but also meaningful direction, purpose, and opportunities. “Each university has been instructed to run programs in collaboration with industry partners to bridge the gap between education and employment,” he added.

To encourage research, the Haryana government has established a State Research Fund. The state is also working to set up a model skill college and a model skill school in every district. The government remains committed to providing quality education, meaningful employment, and promoting innovation.

Minister Gangwa further stated that the current Haryana government has created a system ensuring that educated youth receive jobs based on merit. He cited Haryana Civil Services recruitment as an example of merit-based appointments, which, according to him, has only been possible under the present administration. Additionally, the government has implemented reservation policies for socially disadvantaged groups in panchayats and urban local bodies.
