Haryana Minister Inaugurates State-Level Youth Festival 2025, Urges Young Citizens to Drive Development

Chandigarh, December 8 — Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar inaugurated the State-Level Youth Festival 2025 in Panchkula on Monday, calling on the youth to contribute actively to the state’s progress. He said Haryana is witnessing remarkable growth under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and young people are bringing pride to the state through their hard work and dedication.

Speaking at the three-day festival organised by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Panwar said that Haryana’s daughters are excelling equally, winning medals in national and international competitions and enhancing the state’s reputation globally. “Haryana’s name now resonates not only across India but around the world,” he remarked.

He emphasised that India is currently the world’s youngest nation and this demographic strength offers immense potential. Panwar said that just as young freedom fighters once reshaped India’s destiny, today’s youth can contribute through skills, innovation, technology, sports, arts and entrepreneurship to help India become a developed nation by 2047.

Highlighting government initiatives, he said the Centre and Haryana’s ‘double-engine’ government have launched several welfare schemes for holistic youth development. Programmes like Startup India, Digital India, Skill India, Fit India and Khelo India are empowering young citizens with new opportunities. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, lakhs of youth are receiving training in modern skills to ensure employment-oriented education and stronger livelihood opportunities.

Earlier, Minister Panwar visited various departmental stalls and exhibitions, praising the displays. He also released a book titled Yuva Samvad during the event.

Addressing the gathering, Haryana Sports, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Minister Gaurav Gautam said he felt fortunate to be part of the festival, which he described as a celebration of culture. He noted that the event is being organised to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the great philosopher, saint and inspiration behind national awakening.

Quoting Swami Vivekananda, Gautam said youth power is an endless source of energy and that a determined young person can change the course of history. He urged the youth to “arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached,” adding that their limitless potential only needs proper direction.
