Haryana Makes Historic First Appearance at IFFI 2025 Opening Parade

Chandigarh, November 21 — Haryana showcased its rich culture, cinematic legacy and vibrant identity with a grand debut tableau at the opening parade of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 in Goa. For the first time, IFFI replaced the traditional opening ceremony with a spectacular and immersive “street parade,” offering audiences a unique moving celebration of Indian culture and cinema.

The prestigious nine-day festival, being held from November 20 to 28, features several major events, including the Film Bazaar.

Under the guidance of KM Makarand Pandurang, Director General of the Department of Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, Haryana’s tableau titled “Non-Stop Filmy Haryana” was crafted to highlight the state’s artistic depth and creative spirit.

The tableau drew significant attention from delegates, filmmakers and visitors from India and abroad. It artistically portrayed Haryana’s cultural heritage, cinematic footprint and picturesque film locations, creating a strong visual impact. Tourists and attendees showed notable curiosity and appreciation for the presentation.

The theme “Non-Stop Filmy Haryana” depicted the state as a land where stories sprout from the soil, and art blossoms like fragrance in its fields. Designed in the form of a magnificent film camera, the tableau symbolized Haryana’s creative strength and introduced its culture, people and artistic voice to the world in a refreshing manner.

Golden rays emerging from the camera represented the state’s creative energy and bright future. Digital screens displayed dynamic visuals of Haryana’s heritage, tourism, folk culture, theatre arts and filming destinations, bringing the state’s diverse identity to life on a single canvas.

The tableau also highlighted the impact of Haryana’s film policy, showcasing how stories born in rural chaupals are now reaching global cinema screens. The blooming mustard fields at the base symbolized the state’s timeless traditions and the endless journey of stories rooted in its soil.
