Haryana Launches Toll-Free Helpline 104 for Doctor Appointments

Chandigarh, March 21 – Haryana has taken a big step towards improving healthcare access by launching Dial 104, a toll-free helpline for booking doctor appointments at government hospitals. Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao inaugurated the service in Panchkula, calling it a historic move for the state’s healthcare system.

This initiative aims to reduce long queues in hospitals by allowing people to pre-book consultations. The helpline also provides medicine-related information and allows citizens to register complaints about healthcare services, which will be addressed within five days.

Rao assured that hospital security measures would be strengthened, and the state is actively working to address the shortage of medical staff. Recently, 761 new doctors were appointed. The e-Telemedicine services will also be integrated with the new helpline.

She further stated that hospital infrastructure improvements are on the agenda, with upcoming discussions planned with the Public Works Department (PWD) for maintenance and repairs.
