Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao announces new PHCs and hospital upgrades

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): In a major push to strengthen the rural healthcare infrastructure, Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao announced on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, that the state government has approved the opening of new health centers and the upgrading of existing facilities. The Minister emphasized that the state remains fully committed to improving both the accessibility and quality of healthcare services, ensuring that the benefits of development reach the remote corners of Haryana.

As part of the approved plan, a new Primary Health Center (PHC) will be established in Dhathrath village of Jind district, with construction work slated to begin shortly. Additionally, the Chief Minister has granted in-principle approval to upgrade the existing Sub-Health Center in Sakras village, Nuh district, into a full-fledged PHC. These developments are expected to significantly reduce the travel burden for rural patients seeking primary medical attention.

The urban healthcare sector also received a boost with the approval to upgrade the Community Health Center (CHC) in Ladwa, Kurukshetra district, into a 50-bedded Civil Hospital. Furthermore, a new Sub-Health Center has been sanctioned for Bidhrana village in Jind district. In a proactive move, the local village panchayat has offered to provide a temporary building to operationalize the center immediately while the permanent government facility is under construction.

Minister Aarti Singh Rao stated that these initiatives would not only enhance healthcare delivery at the grassroots level but also alleviate the pressure on major tertiary care hospitals. By expanding the network of health institutions, the state government aims to provide timely treatment to every citizen and fortify the overall health ecosystem of Haryana.
