Haryana Government to Establish New Nursing College in Nuh District to Boost Healthcare Education Says Aarti Singh Rao

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao announced on Thursday that the provincial government is intensifying its focus on enhancing medical education and health services within the Nuh district. A significant milestone in this plan is the proposed establishment of a government nursing college on panchayat land in Dadu village, located in the Taoru block. This development follows a positive report from an administrative committee that assessed the land offered by the village panchayat and found it suitable for the construction of the new educational institution. Minister Rao emphasized that this initiative is a vital step toward fortifying the nursing workforce and improving the overall health infrastructure in a region that has long faced a shortage of professional medical training facilities.

The Health Minister highlighted that the current nursing education capacity in Nuh is severely limited, with only one existing school providing a mere 13 seats for Auxiliary Nurse Midwife training. This significant gap in educational resources has made it difficult to maintain a sufficient level of trained nursing staff to meet the needs of the local population. By establishing this new college, the government aims to directly address these challenges, ensuring that the district—which is often cited as one of the most underdeveloped in the state—receives the necessary support to produce skilled healthcare workers. The new facility is expected to serve as a cornerstone for medical advancement in the Taoru block and the wider Nuh region.

Minister Rao also noted that the new nursing college could potentially be integrated with the existing Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College. Such a collaboration would further strengthen the health system by providing students with better practical training environments and improving the delivery of clinical services to residents. Beyond healthcare, the project is anticipated to act as a major driver for socio-economic development, creating new employment opportunities and offering local youth a pathway to professional careers. This proactive approach reflects the government’s commitment to bridging the developmental divide and ensuring that high-quality medical education is accessible even in the state’s most challenging areas.
